Dr. Lisa Perry, Ed.D., is the director of UC Merced’s Students First Center (SFC), a pivotal figure since its establishment in 2005. Instrumental in the center’s evolution, she spearheaded a transformative Enrollment Management-wide culture initiative, fostering an environment dedicated to enhancing the student experience. With a focus on promoting student self-sufficiency and success through technology and social media, Lisa and her team serve key offices, including Admissions, Financial and Scholarships, and Registration.
Beyond UC Merced, Lisa has shared her expertise on One-Stop development and student service technologies with colleges and universities across the United States and Canada. A graduate of California State University, Chico, and California State University, Stanislaus, Lisa’s authorship includes a notable chapter on UC Merced’s founding and an article on the relationship between One-Stop support and new student enrollment, both highlighting her commitment to advancing higher education. Her groundbreaking research, showcased in her dissertation, provides compelling evidence that the one-stop service model at UC Merced significantly contributes to increased new student enrollment, especially among historically marginalized populations, offering valuable solutions to address student melt in higher education.
